This mom blog design is a super fun project I’ve been wanting to put out FOREVER. I feel like I always stick to a neutral color palette, so it was a lot of fun designing something bold and bright! Here’s a link to the blog, if you want to see it live.
I also designed a custom set of Pinterest pins for the blog. If you didn’t know, Pinterest is a major source of traffic for most blogging niches. Mom blogs, especially, thrive on Pinterest as long as you have some eye-catching pin designs to hook readers in with.
I made a few different styles while sticking to the look and feel of the brand as well as the color palette. For Pinterest, it’s a good idea to create several different styles of pins to attract a wider audience. I usually recommend 2-3 different pin designs per blog post, if not more.
By using 3 different pin templates, this blogger can quickly create 3 different pins for every post published.
I created an optimized Pinterest profile for the OopsMom blog, as well. After applying for rich pins, I started with the profile bio, optimizing for target keywords – moving on to create over 60 relevant, on-niche Pinterest boards with keyworded board descriptions. The next step: Locating and applying for group boards in the mom blog niche!
After that, I created an opt-in freebie for the blog: A weekly meal plan and grocery list printable in three different colors. I set up the freebie to work with MailerLite, but I plan on switching it over to FloDesk ASAP, because FloDesk is the most visually intuitive email marketing solution EVER.
